FORMATING IMAGES FOR PRINTING.
Images supplied for printing should be as follows:
- sRGB, 8 bit colour or greyscale.
- Tiff, Jpeg Bitmap, PDF:
- Machine prints can be supplied as jpeg @ 300 dpi; sizes from 3.5x5 to 18x12 inches.
- For large print sizes save as Tiff @ 254 dpi ; prints sizes from 20x16 and larger .
- Tiffs should not be nzw compressed and should be flattened.
- Images should be cropped according to size of print required. Always keep a master copy in its original or raw format.
- Layout the order for printing in a manner that will be understood by the printer. Put each size into a folder named with the size and quantity.
- Only supply the images that are required for printing.
- When ordering machine prints a name can be attached to the file that will be printed on the back of the print.
- Images that have had Photoshop work carried out should be flattened or layers merged.
- Label the CD so we will know who owns it.
Having the correct white light balance and exposure for the shoot will save hours of post exposure work.
